About Me

I currently live in Prince George, British Columbia, a small city of about 85,000 people at the junction of the Fraser and Nechako Rivers in the Central Interior of the Province. I have recently returned from Williams Lake where I have lived for the past 4 years. I am currently employed by the Forest Research Extension Partnership as an Extension Specialist. Before I moved to Williams Lake in 1999 I worked as a forester with the BC Ministry of Forests. I moved to Prince George in September of 1997 from Fort St. James, British Columbia, a town of about 3000 people on Stuart Lake. Fort St. James is about a two hour drive west and north of Prince George. Before moving to the Fort in the summer of 1995, I lived in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. I lived there for about a year and a half working for Forestry Canada as a research scientist. Previous to that I lived, worked and went to University in Thunder Bay, Ontario. I studied forestry at Lakehead University and graduated in 1985 with my Honours Bachelor of Science in Forestry degree. After a summer in Timmins, Ontario I returned to Lakehead in the fall of '85 to embark on my Masters in Forestry degree. I completed my MScF in 1989. After graduation I worked for the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources as a research forester at the Thunder Bay Forest Nursery and at the Northwestern Ontario Science and Technology Unit.

Ever since my friend Cheryl introduced me to musical theatre in Sault Ste. Marie I have been hooked. Fort St. James had a amateur theatre group which I got involved with when I moved there. I had a variety of roles including Bill Dracula in "Young Dracula", Barney in "Blazing Guns at Roaring Gulch", Billy in "Anything Goes" as well as a few other minor parts. In Prince George I was a member of the Prince George Theatre Workshop. I played King Henry VIII in "A Man for All Seasons", my first serious drama and the Prince Delong in "The Unsinkable Molly Brown". Both plays were a lot of fun and I learned a lot about singing and acting on stage. I also did some skits and songs in our infamous, "An Evening with Monty Python and Friends." Williams Lake also has an amateur theatre group called the Williams Lake Studio Theatre and I hope to get involved with them.

I was born in Toronto, Ontario in 1962 and lived there until I moved to Thunder Bay to go to University. I have a younger brother Mike who still lives in Toronto as well as my parents.

When I moved to Prince George I met a wonderful woman, Shannon, who I have been dating for over a year now. Shannon works for the Ministry of Forests in Prince George as a district planner. She has two great kids, Heather and Colin.
