Investigators from the Penticton RCMP General Investigation Section are currently investigating the suspicious death of a 57-year-old woman. Emergency services were called to an apartment located in the 400 block of Winnipeg Street in Penticton. Upon performing CPR, they determined that the woman had sustained a gunshot wound. Foul play has not been ruled out. At this early stage in the investigation, police have no information to suggest that this was a random act of violence. Thefts from vehicles has once again become a problem. These thefts are mostly occurring in the south end of Penticton. Many of the thefts are occurring to vehicle which have been left insecure by their owners, however a thief will think nothing of breaking a $200 window to steal 50 cents left on the dash.
