On January 28, 2010 Penticton RCMP became aware of a Defamatory Libel offence having been committed sometime between January 27 and 28, 2010 in Penticton.

The offence involved the placement of several photocopied posters in the Penticton Downtown Core. The poster included an image of City Councillor Mike PEARCE with an obvious alteration of an added moustache drawn on his upper lip. The moustache location and size mimicked the moustache commonly grown by Adolf HITLER during his role as Fuhrer of the Nazi Party in Germany in the 1940's. The poster also had written on the bottom in large font "VOTE FOR ME MIKE PEARCE NAZI PARTY".

Penticton RCMP have obtained surveillance video of a person of interest and their associated vehicle, posting the poster in public on January 27, 2010 at about 10:35 P.M. The person of interest is also believed to be linked to a previous Defamatory Libel offence which occurred in Penticton in December of 2009.
