TD CANADA TRUST BANK ROBBED
On February 16, 2010 at 17:50 hrs, a lone male entered the TD Canada Trust bank, located at 2210 Main Street in Penticton. The male waited for an available teller, and then advised the attending teller that he had a weapon and "was not afraid to use it". The male demanded an undisclosed amount in cash. Upon receiving some cash, the male exited the bank without incident. It is unknown whether the male departed the area by foot or by vehicle at this time. The male is described as follows: Caucasian- 6'0" to 6'1" - 175 lbs - medium build - medium to fair complexion - 24 to 26 years of age - brown eyes - unknown hair- wearing a black toque with dark jeans and a black military style "pea coat"

Sometime after 1:30am on December 21st, 1996 a 43 year old male wearing a black denim jacket, blue jeans and a black and white pullover sweater was fatally injured by a Hit and Run driver near the Sun Valley Motel in the 2700 Block of Skaha Lake Road in Penticton. No suspect has ever been identified in this incident.
On July 16, 2002 at 8:30am, the body of Mitchell Carl Jorgenson, age 39, was located at the rear of the Salvation Army Thrift Store in the 300 block of Ellis Street in Penticton, BC. Mr. Jorgenson's death is being investigated as a HOMICIDE. Penticton RCMP are requesting assistance from the general public regarding the movements of Mr. Jorgenson prior to his death and/or any information surrounding the circumstances leading up to his death. He resided in Kelowna and had frequented the Oliver area prior to his death.
On New Years Eve, Dec. 31, 1996, 42 yr. old Dianne Mary Stewart disappeared after leaving a house party on the Penticton Indian Reserve. Despite a massive search Stewart was not located. On May 7, 1997 a member of the band searching for horses located some human remains. An autopsy confirmed the remains were those of Stewart and that she had been murdered. A suspect has never been identified.
On July 24, 1974 the nude body of a young woman was discovered in an isolated area of Naramata, north east of Penticton. Located in the Chute Lake area by two employees of the Canadian Pacific Railway working on a microwave project, the body was down an embankment in a heavily wooded area. It appeared that the body had been in the location for some time as it was in an advanced state of decomposition. The employees were originally attracted to the area by the odour being emitted, thought to be a dead animal. Examination by a Pathologist revealed that the body was of a female in her early 20's, 5'-7" (170cm) tall, 140 to 150 lbs (54 to 68kg) with long light brown hair. Although the cause of death has not been determined, police suspect foul play. This victim is also listed as a Jane Doe. Missing persons reports have never revealed a match for the victim and no person has ever come forward to identify this unknown female.
