Crime Stoppers and some youth from the Penticton Indian Band are embarking on a project to rebuild a car that will be used for community parades, events and awareness. We have had tremendous support from businesses in Penticton to offer their support in various ways i.e. parts, paint, mentorship and skills instructions for the youth. The main purpose of this project is to raise the awareness of Crime Stoppers within all communities but specifically within the Penticton Indian Band community with their youth. Another spin off that we hope will be realized is that some of these youth may find a career in the automotive field as a result of this exposure and opportunity to be involved in a "hands on" project. Penticton Towing has been very instrumental in moving this forward so Crime Stoppers is hoping that all businesses that participate will receive the appropriate recognition throughout the duration as well as the youth that are working on the project.
Penticton Towing as well as assisting in initiating the program will transport the vehicle around as required and will supply some of the parts for the restoration.
The Penticton Indian Band has has purchased safety gear and clothing for all of the youth.
Coveralls donated and cleaned by Cintas Uniforms
Mr. Abe Kruger has donated the use of his personal tools and also purchased some special tools that will be required throughout the project.
School District 67 (Okanagan Skaha) will be providing educational support to the youth on the project.

Support and interaction from the members of the Penticton R.C.M.P. First Nations Policing Detachment.
